What is Legionella?

What is Legionella?

Legionella is a type of bacterium.  When people inhale small droplets of water in the air that contain Legionella, they may develop a condition called Legionnaires' Disease or Pontiac Fever.

Our Legionella water management plans help control Legionella within a building’s water systems and equipment. Once we identify potential areas for Legionella growth, we specify proactive steps to minimize this growth. Additionally, we provide verification and validation procedures to ensure your plan is working effectively. We provide comprehensive, formally documented plans that are accessible in either a PDF or interactive, cloud-based format.

Legionella: National Guidelines

Legionella: National Guidelines

Developing a water management plan that effectively reduces the risk of Legionnaires' Disease can be a challenging task. The professionals at Innovative Water Consulting sift through national guidelines and insure your building and your organizations are compliant.  National Guidelines include ASHRAE 188 and the CDC's toolkit.  We are experts in this field and possess the know-how in execution to make your buildings compliant.

New Legislation for the Prevention of Legionnaires Disease

New Legislation for the Prevention of Legionnaires Disease

Legislation surrounding the prevention and control of Legionella in building water systems is increasing. Following the lethal Legionnaires’ Disease outbreak in the Bronx, both New York City and New York state enacted laws requiring facilities to have water management plans for some of their infrastructure and water sources. Other states that experienced Legionella-related tragedies are following suit with proposed legislation.

In response to recent outbreaks, many organizations are evaluating how they may better protect their building’s occupants, infrastructure and image. As more and more states require water management plans for facilities, Innovative Water Consulting is at the forefront of providing preventative strategies that mitigate risk for your organization. We are experts in getting your buildings compliant with the standards.

A proactive versus a reactive approach is the key to mitigating risk for your organization.
